Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Teragon Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates Harmony, a free desktop communication application that provides text channels, voice chat, video calls, and screen sharing. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use Harmony.
We believe in transparency and simplicity. Harmony is built with privacy at its core: we do not serve ads, we do not track your behavior, and we do not sell your data.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address — used for authentication and service-related communications
- Username — your chosen display identity within Harmony
- Password — stored only as a cryptographic hash; we never store or have access to your plaintext password
Profile Information
You may optionally provide a display name and avatar image. This information is only what you choose to share.
Messages and Content
Text messages you send in channels are stored on our servers to provide channel history and message delivery. Files and images you share are stored for access by channel members with appropriate permissions.
Server Membership Data
We store information about which servers you belong to and the roles and permissions assigned to you within those servers.
Voice, Video, and Screen Sharing
Voice calls, video calls, and screen sharing are transmitted in real time and are never recorded or stored. Once a call ends, no audio, video, or screen content is retained on our servers.
Technical Data
When you connect to Harmony, we may temporarily process your IP address for authentication, rate limiting, and security purposes. We also receive basic client information such as your operating system type and Harmony version. This technical data is not retained long-term and is not used for profiling or tracking.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Behavioral or usage analytics profiles
- Advertising identifiers
- Third-party tracking data
- Payment or financial information
- Location data beyond what is inherent in an IP address
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Create and maintain your Harmony account
- Operate text channels, voice chat, video calls, and screen sharing
- Manage server memberships, roles, and permissions
- Ensure the security and integrity of the service
- Send service-related communications (account changes, downtime notices, policy updates)
- Comply with legal obligations when required
We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. How We Store Your Information
Your data is stored on infrastructure operated by Teragon Technologies LLC, hosted primarily on Hetzner Cloud servers located in Germany (European Union). Some infrastructure components may also be hosted on our private servers.
We use PostgreSQL databases with encryption at rest and all data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS). Authentication is managed through JWT-based sessions.
We do not use major third-party cloud providers (such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) for user data storage, which limits the number of parties with access to your information.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their commercial purposes.
- Within the app: Your messages, profile information, and server memberships are visible to other users according to the channel and server permission settings you and your server administrators have configured.
- No third-party sharing: We do not share your data with analytics companies, advertising networks, or data brokers.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose your information only if required by a valid, binding legal process such as a subpoena or court order.
- Business transfer: If Teragon Technologies LLC is acquired or merges with another entity, you will be notified prior to any transfer of your data.
6. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained until you request account deletion.
- Messages and content: Retained until deleted by you or a server administrator.
- IP and connection logs: Retained for no more than 30 days, then permanently deleted.
- Account deletion: When you delete your account, your personal data is purged within 30 days. Some data may be anonymized and retained for aggregate statistics only.
7. Your Privacy Rights
All Users
Regardless of where you are located, you may:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile information
- Delete your account and associated data
European Union / EEA Residents (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have additional rights including:
- Right to access and data portability
- Right to rectification and erasure
- Right to restrict or object to processing
- Right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected about you
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — note that we do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of

8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for data in transit, encryption at rest for stored data, and secure JWT-based session management.
No system is completely secure. If we discover a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery.

9. Children's Privacy
Harmony is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in some EU member states). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.
If we become aware that a user is under the applicable minimum age, we will terminate the account and delete the associated data. Currently, we do not employ active age verification mechanisms.
10. International Data Transfers
Our primary servers are located in Germany (European Union) via Hetzner Cloud, providing meaningful data residency within the EU for our European users. Some infrastructure components are hosted on private servers in the United States.
If you are located outside the EU, your data may be processed in the EU and/or the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any cross-border data transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of Harmony after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Previous versions of this policy will be archived and available upon request.
